Travel should be fun but it isn?t always because in the excitement we forget many basic rules we live by in normal life; so it is time to remember some of these. (...)

Travel should be fun but it isn?t always because in the excitement we forget many basic rules we live by in normal life; so it is time to remember some of these. Travel can be expensive enough as it is without expensive mistakes which could be avoided, resulting in a dislike for your chosen location and its people. In some instances it is not uncommon for fear to set in and venturing from the relative safety of the hotel room or resort is out of the question. It doesn?t matter if you are visiting a local market or out for an evening meal, traveling safely is about the application of common sense when you are in an unfamiliar location.

Nature gave us all a very effective means for survival in unknown circumstances; it?s called instinct and you must learn to trust it. Always be careful about traveling with all your documents and money if you are just going to town to see the sights or have a meal. Take just what you need for the day and leave the rest in the hotel safe as it is better to lose a little, rather then everything. If you place your cash, traveler?s checks and credit cards in various locations about your person, then there is less likelihood of pickpockets stealing all your financial assets and leaving you with nothing.

As an added measure when using travel safely methods, carry credit cards from different accounts; should one be lost or stolen there is a second to fall back on. Some of the easiest possessions to steal are bags and cameras owing to the way people carry them without even recognizing that they are an easy target for thieves; ensure the straps are over the head and across the chest if you want to hold on to them. When you walk out make sure you are on the sidewalk as motorbikes and cars can?t drive here and if you have your bag or camera dangling off the shoulder furthest from the road it won?t be so easy to take. From a criminal?s point of view, large groups of tourists are just treated as easy targets and because they do this sort of thing all the time, they are extremely good at it.

The truth is we always believe it won?t happen to us because we are too streetwise but it is that arrogance that gets us caught out and these individuals do this every day. For instance, when carrying small bags (rucksacks for example), it is not a difficult job to place a small combination lock on it to put thieves off; remember they are always looking for the easy victim! A good way to prevent your keys from being stolen or more likely lost, is to buy a small shackle that climbers use and while you cannot lock these it is possible to secure them to belts for example. Both men and women lose their wallets and purses because men have wallets in their back pockets and women have their open handbags; so the easiest thing is for men to change the place they keep their wallet and for women to make sure their handbag is closed properly. Generally speaking there is no reason why you shouldn?t have a great vacation if you just remember to travel safely, listen to your instincts and act using your common sense.

When visiting new places, time is the enemy but if you plan to have a seven day stay in New York then you should have ample time in this busy city to explore and see all the 'must do places'. Probably one of the first stops will be the Empire State Building and whilst it may be on every tourists list, that doesn't mean it is not worth it, especially the view from the top. Of course, many people prefer the view form the Rockefeller Center which is a little higher, but it can be difficult to see anything when there is bad weather. Most people's first proper view of the Statue of Liberty is from a tour boat but increasing numbers of people often mean it is better to land at Ellis Island.

Fortunately, the Staten Island ferry is still free and can provide great views of the Statue of Liberty; it is also worth walking around the terminal as well as there are many excellent street performers there. However, no seven day trip to New York would be complete now without a visit to where the World Trade Center Towers once stood not that long ago. It is true to say that the location does affect people emotionally and until you are there, it is hard to imagine just how much space was taken up by the Twin Towers. For those who love to shop there is of course the famous Tiffany's and Broadway plus some fantastic old discount warehouses worth a look down on the Lower East Side.

Whereas there are stores like Macy's who are happy to take your tourist discount card and give you an eleven percent discount to the very exclusive Bloomingdales who probably won't. An excellent tourist location is the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum which is likely to be closed until the end of 2008; although often underestimated, once it opens its doors again, it will be well worth a visit. For those that are interested in large vessels like planes and aircraft carriers for example, then this is the place to visit with the aircraft carrier - Intrepid; submarines and even a Concorde to name but a few of the craft they have there. The real New York City Police Museum is open for visitors and whilst admission is free; donations are expected of around five dollars to help with running it; it contains a great deal of information about the World famous Police Department and you can buy souvenirs too.

The migrant period of New York is highlighted in an excellent exhibition at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum where scenes of what made America a great place to be are alongside of scenes America would like to forget. For a step back in time it worth going to Central Park where the New York Museum is located; this is an exhibition of many periods relating to the life of The Big Apple. The museum is in a beautiful building which is free to enter but a nine dollar donation is normally given with plenty of souvenirs available. Perhaps as with any capital city, seven days in New York really is only enough to give you a taste of what it has to offer; still that just means to will have to spend more time there in the future!

More all inclusive vacation packages are found in the Caribbean than anywhere else in the world. (...)

More all inclusive vacation packages are found in the Caribbean than anywhere else in the world. No-one has yet figured out why all inclusive Caribbean vacations are so popular but, the number of tourists arranging this type of break increases every year. One theory suggests it is part of a plan to attract more visitors to the Caribbean; however, there really isn't any basis for this belief.

The most plausible explanation is the fact that for many people who want to travel to these islands, all inclusive Caribbean vacations packages are very good value for money; this is particularly true against standard room only or fly drive vacations. These vacations can even be tailored to suit individual needs where they are designed to suit a particular type of visitor. For people that already have family on the islands, their requirements are minimal; there is generally no need for anything other than a flight to be arranged.

In all likelihood, the people going to the islands will book an all inclusive Caribbean vacation to make the trip less expensive than arranging it in any other way. Whilst many people like to book everything themselves, this isn't always the least expensive option as operators can offer massive discounts. Although many independent travelers would never consider arranging a 'package' vacation like this. Even after many years of all inclusive vacations, many travelers are still unsure exactly what is included in a vacation like this.

The only constant with every vacation booked is that the accommodation is included as part of the price. All meals and any additional snacks for example will be included in the cost but that is not necessarily the case with other types of package available; in fact many types of board only include a continental breakfast as part of the arrangement. It is surprising how some vacationers still do not understand the distinction between full board and an all inclusive vacation.

The difference is that an all inclusive Caribbean vacation package will include all food and drinks whereas a full board vacation only generally includes breakfast, lunch and an evening meal. Many vacation packages may include vouchers or discounts for activities that visitors can participate in; however, the visitor will still need to pay for those activities at some point, although it may not be at the full price. Most all inclusive Caribbean vacations will however, normally include all these as part of the package; they often include dining at restaurants that are not part of the hotel which should create a far more interesting experience.

Budget car rentals are a traveler's savior from being stranded in one place; the convenience of having a car whenever you need to travel should not be underestimated. (...)

Budget car rentals are a traveler's savior from being stranded in one place; the convenience of having a car whenever you need to travel should not be underestimated. You will need to check carefully before you rent a budget car or you may end up with a vehicle with the power of a quad bike. I am not trying to put you off renting a car, just making sure you are aware that some companies will try to rent you something that will not be suitable. To avoid this here are a few tips to get the budget, out of your rental car.

If the type of car you want to drive is of no real concern to you, use a budget car rental web site that allows you to dictate your own price level. Often the site will not only get you the best deal but may even throw in an unlimited mileage just to get the deal. When you look, pay attention to the fly-drive packages as they will often discount car rentals although the airlines are not so accommodating. Most people landing at an airport rush off to the car rental counters not realizing that these are not the most cost efficient places to rent a car and it is the same for their online business as well.

If you are not used to arranging budget car rental on the internet, do not let that put you off as you will be pleasantly surprised by the offers available. Often the discounts you are offered are only available to online customers. If you see an offer that looks good, you do not have to take the first one that comes your way because if one car rental company has a special offer on, then they probably won't be the only one. Plus, and this is the good bit; all this can be done from your home.

Discounts are often available that you don't realize; they are those that have been arranged between the budget car rental company and your credit card company so it is worth checking as you can save even more money. It is quite common these days for a company to have made an arrangement with other companies to give discounts to their employees or members so you may be lucky enough to receive a further discount here. Before you drive the rental car away, carry out a thorough check for damage. These cars often take a few knocks so if there is any damage; make sure the renter is aware of them. Not only the outside but also check the inside and make sure all the controls etc. work as the last thing you want is a hefty repair bill when you return the car.

As far as rental car insurance is concerned, check your own before you pay out more for the rental company's policy which you may not need. Why pay for rental car insurance when your own auto insurance policy will cover some of the aspects, even if it isn't a great deal; even though it may not seem important, driving without auto insurance can land you in a ton of trouble. Another money saving tip is to pick up your car early in the morning, make it so that the firm is just opening, this is because at this time most of the rental cars haven't been returned yet, and you may get an upgrade for a lower price.

Although the madness of an Orlando vacation might seem scary at times with the number of theme parks to visit, this city has more for the visitor if they want something a little different. (...)

Although the madness of an Orlando vacation might seem scary at times with the number of theme parks to visit, this city has more for the visitor if they want something a little different. Orlando also has markets, shows, art galleries, exhibitions, beautiful lakes and parks, all easily available for the visitor who wants something a little different. Whilst a vacation here has been popular for many years now, the reason to visit continues to grow as the number of facilities and attractions increases.

It is a great place to visit even if you only have shopping on your mind as Orlando area is full of beautiful shopping malls, restaurants and shops of every type. Besides the major theme parks, a vacation in Orlando can offer so many attractions to spark the imagination that it's hard to know where to begin. Central Florida Zoological Park is one of the major reasons to visit as the zoo is home to more than 400 animals that started out as just a collection in the Sanford Fire Department. The Central Florida Zoological Park and Botanical Gardens is dedicated to preserving the beauty and wonder of animals including their habitats.

You may have heard of the name Tiffany's but did you know that it was way back in 1942 that the Morse Museum in Winter Park that started displaying the collections of Louis Tiffany. This collection comprises Tiffany art glass, clayware and ornaments plus the chapel interior designed for the World's Columbian Exposition in Chicago in 1893. Orlando is certainly a city for all age groups and not solely designed for the amusement of children as family and adult attractions are in equal numbers. For tourists that like to burn the candle at both ends there is a range of nightly entertainment on an Orlando vacation from themed family evenings like Pirates Adventure to clubs, bars and restaurants.

If you are more technology and science minded then a trip to the Orlando Science Center will be a must as is a huge complex incorporating 10 halls with exhibitions everything from the Florida Everglades to the plains of Mars. For lovers of anything relating to trains and trolleys, there is the International Trolley and Train Museum which has fourteen model trains running through the building which actually houses a waterfall. If you have seen the Titanic-ship of Dreams film then you will enjoy the exhibition along International Drive that tells the story using large sets and depictions from the ship as a background.

Of course if you prefer something more relaxing then you should visit Lake Eola Park, situated in the heart of downtown; this is the city's main attraction with 43 acres of beautiful sidewalks and a boating lake. Not all theme parks in Orlando are based purely on rides as the fantastic Seaworld will attest but if you want rides then you have the Disney resort theme parks and Universal studios too. For people that dislike sitting around on a beach then a vacation in Orlando is ideal although there are certain times during the year when it is much busier than others.

Paris is the capital of France and the second largest city of Western Europe; sitting astride either side of the river Seine it is one of the world's most popular cities. (...)

Paris is the capital of France and the second largest city of Western Europe; sitting astride either side of the river Seine it is one of the world's most popular cities. Renowned for its modern art and breathtaking scenery a short stay in Paris is the ideal location for a romantic weekend break; you can never become bored in this beautiful city.

It is known for its wonderful buildings, style, excellent food and wine; these include the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, markets and a history only matched by a few other European cities. Like most European cities, Paris is easy to get around; the Metro underground train network will probably be the main method as it runs regularly and reaches every part of the city.

At almost 1,000 feet high, the Eiffel Tower is an impressive sight; it?s visible throughout most of the city but the views from the top of this huge steel structure are even more impressive. Illuminated at night it dominates the city's skyline; it is possible to take organized tours which tell the story of the Tower and the history of France.

On your Paris trip ensure you add the famous Champs Elysees to your list of places to visit; you can see beautiful shops, sit and drink coffee from the many cafes or have a meal in a first class restaurant. This avenue is well worth a visit to see how the wealthy live; the exclusive five star hotels situated in this more select part of the city might be out of most visitors' price range.

The world famous Louvre museum is in this city; with almost a third of a million exhibits, you will not be able to see everything in one trip. It would be easy for anyone on a Paris short stay vacation to spend all their time here; the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo statue just two of many appreciated works of art. What makes Paris special is the number of artists that have been attracted to this great capital; the likes of Monet, Picasso and many others lived in the city for years and some of their work can still be seen today.

Another famous Paris attraction is The Arc de Triomphe which was built within the first decade of the nineteenth century; to honor his generals (and his troops) he had their names inscribed upon it. A little known fact is that there's a viewing observatory built into the building allowing the whole area to be viewed; it can be found in Charles de Gaulle Place at the intersection of twelve avenues including the Champs Elysees.

You will not be at a loss for places to visit whilst in the city; but these should certainly not to be missed because many offer regular guided tours, some at little or no charge at all. A Paris short stay vacation will probably be best suited as just a taster of the city; the likes of medieval churches, buildings and castles, which it has in abundance, will have to wait until another time.

Companies everywhere are finding they need to travel more if they want to meet new customers and to capture new sources of business; with the global popularity of the Internet, even tiny companies can compete, and have customers anywhere. The problem is that business travel is renowned for causing stress and fatigue. With that in mind, this business travel tips article highlights some useful information that could make your business journeys more pleasurable.

Sometimes for instance, baggage goes missing; that is an unfortunate fact of travel and whilst it is distressing enough on a family holiday, on a business trip it can be disastrous. The easiest way to ensure this situation does not affect you is by placing important business documents in your hand luggage. This means that even if your main luggage is lost your trip does not have to be wasted; your meeting can still take place despite any inconvenience that has been caused.

Regular travelers know that the main business travel tip when packing is to keep things simple by only including exactly what you need for the journey and that way you won't go far wrong if luggage goes missing. The easiest way to do this is to only take one pair of casual shoes and work pair; keep your work clothes to exactly what you need for the tip and likewise clothes for when you are on your leisure time. The only other essentials to pack are your toiletries and any non-essential business information that you might require.

A little business travel tip that flight attendants use when they pack is to roll up their clothes, then place them into cylinders which compresses the clothing and reduces the number of creases. The last thing you want on a business trip is having clothes laundered because something was spilt on them, this can easily be avoided by wearing dark clothes which are able to absorb stains more easily. Another little trick that experienced travelers use is to carry hand and face wipes with them which can freshen your appearance in seconds without the need of a washroom.

If you are only away for a couple of days make sure your cell phone and any other electronic equipment are fully charged so you can continue working at your convenience. Many business travelers now use the traveling time to do as much work as possible which then allows them some personal time to themselves after work which in turn reduces stress. These tips make sure that no matter what happens when you travel on business you will be able to continue with your plans and will not be left wondering what to do next. There is no reason why you shouldn't enjoy your business travel so adhering to the few, very simple business travel tips given here will make your journey more enjoyable.

As an alternative to a standard single center land based vacation, Caribbean cruises are becoming increasingly sought after; this type of vacation could be the experience of a lifetime. What more could you want, with a complete program of daily activities on board the cruise liner, entertainment every evening and the wonderful beaches and islands of the Caribbean. How long you sail for really is up to your budget and what standard of cabin you want but these tours can be add-ons for other vacations or as long as fourteen or more days.

Sailing is an excellent way to enjoy yourself and this includes a person who just wants to send all day on board enjoying the entertainment to someone who can't wait to explore all the new sights. Cruise liner owners are aware of this and have different packages to cater for diverse crowds so the vacation can meet their needs of a dream holiday with a variety of entertainment packages available. Planning is the key to vacationing and with the number of packages now available it will be well worth your time to have a chat with your tour operator's agent.

Each Caribbean cruise will visit a certain number of islands on that particular voyage so you must decide if you want to visit certain islands like Jamaica, Bermuda, Bahamas or Antigua for example. For those individuals and couples that enjoy parties and event filled vacations then choose a cruise vacation that perhaps is designed more for adults than families. Don't forget that more and more information is put online these days and whilst the travel agent will be helpful, there is every chance you can take a virtual tour of the Caribbean cruise ships if you visit the website directly.

Remember that a vacation on board a ship allows you more opportunity to dress up as there are more functions than you are probably used too. For formal evenings and events a gown is necessary for women and tuxedo for men so that you can be seen in your finest and something you need to be prepared for especially if you are invited to the Captains table. Don't worry if you are uncertain about taking your children along on a cruise vacations because there will be plenty for them to do without you needing to be close at hand, watching over them.

A wide variety of activities are planned for them so that you can spend the time to do what you like; trained staff will look after them so you can put your mind at ease while you are enjoying and relaxing with your spouse. Other specialist Caribbean cruises are concerned with only the concerns of adults that do not have their children with them that can be a little more romantic. Special occasions can be made very special on board a cruise liner whether it is for an anniversary or a honeymoon, various packages and upgrades can be arranged. A Caribbean cruise will be your vacation of a lifetime as it has the scenery, locations, beaches and the first class service you can expect on board a cruise liner whether you are alone or with others.

There was a time when you would probably have to queue to see your tour operator to book a vacation but the internet has seen the number of travel agents visited dwindle, as more booking takes place online. (...)

There was a time when you would probably have to queue to see your tour operator to book a vacation but the internet has seen the number of travel agents visited dwindle, as more booking takes place online. It is not only because you can book your vacation form the comfort of you home but generally, it will be less expensive as well. Unlike most people, I still enjoy using a travel agent and talking to a real person and I can't see that changing; however, I also enjoy doing my research using the internet so I have a good idea of just what the resort is like that I am going too. It isn't difficult to go ahead and check out the destinations that you are thinking about exploring and I have done that many times; I have even looked at rates to see if they are affordable before I approach a travel agent.

I mean, what is the point of going along to your tour operator and then finding out your dream vacation is not within your budget. These people are not only there to book your travel, they are there to answer any and all of your questions regarding traveling. They are particularly useful when you intend to travel outside of the United States and can help with any laws that might be relevant to where you're going. For instance some place charge a fee to enter their country which isn't always shown in the brochure or online and they will know this; they may be even able to advise on places to visit.

The internet cannot do everything for you though as it's not designed to look after your every need and make sure you have as few problems when you travel as possible. Although I do not have any real problem with the internet it is the human approach that I prefer. Your travel agent will be there to complain to if there are problems on your trip and as they are human they do not like to be complained to, they probably put more effort into ensuring your vacation is trouble free. It was when my husband and I were to be married that having a travel agent really proved to be of enormous help as she just made it all so simple.

It was the fact that this woman was putting herself out so much for us that really sold back the idea of using a person again because she really couldn't have been more helpful. Once we had sorted out the budget she was able to give us plenty of options and was incredibly helpful in locating companies that could provide special services. Because of her help, we booked the vacation immediately and she organized a wedding coordinator to help make those arrangements. The other benefit of a travel agent is of course when it comes to problems you may have experienced on your vacation; something they are far more able to deal with than a computer.

Once only the province of the wealthy and famous, international travel is now far more prevalent as technology has reduced costs and made it possible for the number of people to travel the world to increase dramatically. (...)

Once only the province of the wealthy and famous, international travel is now far more prevalent as technology has reduced costs and made it possible for the number of people to travel the world to increase dramatically. The world is a much more accessible place even for people on a moderate salary and there are huge savings to be made if you carry out your own research and book over the internet especially if you don't travel during peak times. You'll find the cheapest fares in winter and if you're traveling to Italy or Spain, this can be a plus and with mild winter temperatures you can be really adventurous and footloose. When carrying out your online research, look for people that rent out their own apartments and homes perhaps for a shorter time which may mean it will be less expensive than through other specialist organizations.

Facilities are usually comparable to many American homes so the likes of laundry equipment, cooking and the internet should all be available. Having a kitchen lets you prepare some of your meals yourself and you can save a bundle of money and time just fixing your morning coffee and breakfast before going out sightseeing. By having the facility to wash and iron you clothes you can save more money on having them professionally laundered and greetings cards can be sent for no charge over the internet. Seeing and meeting people from other countries will open your mind to new ideas especially when you see things that you wish you had in your own country.

One area where there is a huge difference is in the approach of people in Europe to food and eating out which is something to be enjoyed with friends and family which may last the whole evening and not something to be rushed. You can get a much more realistic feel to wear you are staying by visiting the areas where the local population are; sit outside a cafe and watch the life around you as it will leave a more lasting impression than all the tourist attractions you can visit. International travel exposes you to new cuisines and you may never taste an authentic Spanish Paella, French Pistou or Italian pizza unless you take the leap and immerse yourself in your travel destination of choice. Part of the experience of international travel is getting around, so become adventurous as large cities, such as Paris, have inexpensive and ultra-efficient transport systems making it easy to go anywhere you want.

This of course means that to do this efficiently, it is good idea to carry everything you need for the trip in a carry on, which will make things simpler; no lost luggage or waiting around the luggage carousel at the airport. Traveling light has many advantages and if you can do this it will save a great deal of time and there is less likelihood of lost or damaged luggage if you only have a carry on. If you think about it, heavy items like toiletries can be purchased almost anywhere which makes packing for an extended break much easier as does fitting it into hand luggage. Many seasoned travelers will recommend this as a way of visiting new places with less hassle and it can all be done online if you know where to look.

People who travel often seem to be talking a lot about airfare deals and getting the best price at the best time to travel. (...)

People who travel often seem to be talking a lot about airfare deals and getting the best price at the best time to travel. Ticket costs around the World can vary significantly, but it is possible to fly to most destinations for a lot less than full standard fare; given you've enlisted the aid of a friendly travel agent and have done some research.

The ability for the traveler to be flexible is the key factor when it comes to getting good deals. If you are prepared to be flexible on the day and time of year when you travel, you can nearly always have a cheap seat. Airlines will slot people into empty seats to save money, so if you're willing to modify your dates to suit their goal, you will benefit also. A hefty cancellation fee will be charged against you by many airlines, if after you have booked your flight, you switch the date. A point about being flexible when looking for flights is that if you want to cancel or change your flight without receiving an additional charge, it might be better to pay the regular ticket price.

Within the competitive world of airlines and airfare deals, frequent flyers are more likely to see the benefits. Regular travelers are more likely to benefit from frequent flyer programs initiated by airlines. Passengers collect points or benefits each time they fly with a particular carrier and they redeem them for a free ticket for a partner of for some other benefit. Intense competition has led to many airlines' adoption of this devise or to their linking with other airlines; many hotels are doing the same.

A well-known source for airfare deals is on the internet. Beware of the internet sites that are specializing in selling airline tickets at a discount, they could be legitimate but it is always best to book your flight with known discount agents. Frequently, the problem is that ticket buyers cannot verify the site's legitimacy until they have made the payment. Visiting the booking office is the best way to assess the agent's knowledge, if that's not possible, make a call, but never expect an email to be the only method of contacting them. Inquire about information concerning likely snags involving their ticket deals, for example, an unattractive stopover. Make sure that you know exactly which airline you are flying on, that's very important information.

Airfare deals are on the increase, and options are opening up daily for new destinations and more flexible routes. With careful research of the airlines' options and a flexible attitude you will eventually arrive at your destination with little hindrance.

Travel should be fun but it isn?t always because in the excitement we forget many basic rules we live by in normal life; so it is time to remember some of these. (...)

Travel should be fun but it isn?t always because in the excitement we forget many basic rules we live by in normal life; so it is time to remember some of these. Problems that could leave you with bad memories and a dislike of the local people, and maybe having to replace lost items; it could cost you lots of money and end up ruining your holiday. At the extreme end you may have to spend time at the local Police station giving statements and filling out reports. Any advice you receive from authorities will always tell you to use your common sense if you want to travel safely especially when you are in a situation or circumstances that are different which is particularly true on holiday.

Trust your instincts if something doesn?t feel right, do something about it. Before you go out, consider if you actually need all your credit cards, cash, passports and airline tickets because if someone does manage to get hold of them, you will be left with nothing. Consider just what you require for your trip out and take that, placing everything else that is of importance in your room or hotel safe. One suggestion that can help reduce the risk of losing everything is placing cash and credit cards in different locations like pockets, wallets and bags; a pickpocket who is trying to steal from you will only get a small amount, leaving you with means to get back to the hotel.

Unfortunately, the convenience of having two credit cards on the same account in your own country can be a problem in a foreign land so another travel safely tip is to use two completely separate accounts; this provides a back-up should one be lost or stolen. One simple trick to stop a bag thief is to place the strap over the head and across the chest as opposed to on the shoulder where it is easy to grab. Always avoid letting something hang from your shoulder next to the road as it is easy to grab something from the back of a motorbike as it passes you. There are many ways to scam tourists and you are vulnerable when you are on vacation so it is an easy task as these people are very good at what they do.

It is often our arrogance that lets us become victims of theft and other deceptions because we do not believe that anyone will pull the wool over our eyes but this is how the criminals earn their living. If you use a small backpack or day bag when wandering the streets or local markets why not buy a small padlock because would be pickpockets will be put off straight away. To prevent keys being lost or stolen try attaching them to a climber?s D-shackle that you can place on your belt or pack of some sort, this should help stop anyone trying to snatch them quickly from you. If you are a man that keeps his wallet in his back pocket, change this to your front pocket; likewise women should close their handbag because all this has a deterrent factor. The only reason these types of events happen on vacation is most people are not traveling safely so by maintaining your guard, many awkward situations can be avoidable.

Known as the city that never sleeps; you will need to have at least seven days in New York City if you want a real taste of what it has to offer the visitor. (...)

Known as the city that never sleeps; you will need to have at least seven days in New York City if you want a real taste of what it has to offer the visitor. No trip to New York would be complete without a visit to the Empire State Building, and the 86th floor is definitely not to be missed. There is of course some competition between the Empire State Building and the Tour boats can take visitors out to see the big lady 'The Statue of Liberty' but be prepared for long delays these days; the view of her from Ellis Island is an option worth considering.

Thankfully, the Staten Island ferry is free and provides some great views of the Lower Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty; this is also a great place to spend some time enjoying the talents of local (almost professional) street entertainers. However, no seven day trip to New York would be complete now without a visit to where the World Trade Center Towers once stood not that long ago. Twin Towers stood on but not one where a photograph would be appropriate. For those who love to shop there is of course the famous Tiffany's and Broadway plus some fantastic old discount warehouses worth a look down on the Lower East Side.

Other stores like Bloomingdales are the kind of place where you can look at the goods but must not touch to the other famous store Macy's where there is always a sale on. The real New York City Police Museum is open for visitors and whilst admission is free; donations are expected of around five dollars to help with running it; all sorts of items are on display here and it's a great place for souvenirs.

Another museum is the Lower East Side Tenement Museum which focuses on the appalling conditions experienced by the immigrants back in 1864. If Central Park is on your list of places to see then there is another museum aptly named the City of New York Museum which has exhibitions exploring the city's past, its present and the future. The venue is also free but relies on donations and souvenirs to survive; generally visitors provide a donation of approximately 9 dollars. As I am sure you can imagine if you have been on a trip to any major capital city, there is far more to see and do than a short stay or even a seven day trip to New York can accomplish.

More all inclusive vacation packages are found in the Caribbean than anywhere else in the world. (...)

More all inclusive vacation packages are found in the Caribbean than anywhere else in the world. This is such a popular area of the world that all inclusive Caribbean vacations now outnumber bed and breakfast vacations booked on the islands. One theory suggests it is part of a plan to attract more visitors to the Caribbean; however, there is very little evidence that this is the case.

In all likelihood it is just the fact that all inclusive Caribbean vacations are becoming more popular generally as they are more cost effective; which makes them particularly attractive for families on a budget. Vacations in the Caribbean can be designed completely to the needs of the individual and are therefore very attractive to many visitors. For example for people with relatives, their vacation needs are easily met; these visitors only require a flight package as their accommodation would have already been arranged.

For the average tourist and his family, an all inclusive Caribbean vacation is the more likely scenario with costs manageable right from the start. Many tour operators offering this facility will have options of cheaper transportation and accommodation than would otherwise be accessible to the independent traveler. Of course travelers who like to arrange everything them self, would not consider such an option even if the vacation were 'to die for'. Many people are still unsure of what to expect from an all inclusive vacation even though they have now been around for a good many years.

No matter what type of vacation you are arranging, one thing remains constant and that is the room will be included in the package. All meals and any additional snacks for example will be included in the cost but that is not necessarily the case with other types of package available; a great deal depends on what sort of vacation is being offered. It is strange how many people still believe if they have booked a full board package that it actually means all inclusive!

In actual fact the difference between a full board vacation (three meals a day) and an all inclusive Caribbean vacation is quite great because the latter will also provide all food, snacks, tea, coffee, soft drinks and locally produced alcohol. Another distinction is in the vouchers for meals, entertainment and often trips which are presented by many hotels; normally there will be an additional (usually lower) cost attached nevertheless. For a person or family booked on an all inclusive Caribbean vacation, there is little to pay; often included are restaurants outside of the hotel complex which means you can make more of your vacation without dipping into your pocket constantly.

Budget car rentals are a traveler's savior from being stranded in one place; taxis can be an expensive proposition when you are on vacation or business if you intend to use them every day. (...)

Budget car rentals are a traveler's savior from being stranded in one place; taxis can be an expensive proposition when you are on vacation or business if you intend to use them every day. However, the rental car market can be fiercely competitive so be careful you are not given a car with an engine that would be better fitted to a bike. I am not trying to put you off renting a car, just making sure you are aware that some companies will try to rent you something that will not be suitable. To avoid this here are a few tips to get the budget, out of your rental car.

I have found that budget car rental using the internet as a resource is a good way to find a low cost car because some sites let you set a limit on what you are prepared to pay. These companies will try and get you the best deal available and often offer other upgrades or incentives to get your custom. When you look, pay attention to the fly-drive packages as they will often discount car rentals although the airlines are not so accommodating. Unfortunately, airlines although convenient aren't really the more economic way to go, their car rental prices are hardly budget, and tend to be higher than those of outside firms.

Just remember that you are likely to come across some amazing budget car rental deals on the internet if you look. Internet only bookings are fast becoming the only way you are able to receive a discount on your car rental. Besides, apart from upgrades, special offers are nearly always available if you look around. Another thing to consider is the ease with which you can rent a car without leaving the comfort of your house.

Another thing to ask is whether your credit card company has negotiated special discounts with the budget car rental company you are going to use. If you are a member of the military or government, you may be eligible for discounts negotiated with a number of rental companies on your behalf. Before you drive the rental car away, carry out a thorough check for damage. These cars often take a few knocks so if there is any damage; make sure the renter is aware of them. In addition to a physical check for collision damage, make sure everything works as it should or you might find yourself paying for something that wasn't your fault.

As far as rental car insurance is concerned, check your own before you pay out more for the rental company's policy which you may not need. Even though rental car insurance isn't going to cost you a fortune, there is no point in paying it if you are already covered; even though it may not seem important, driving without auto insurance can land you in a ton of trouble. One last tip is to try and collect your rental car as soon as the office opens as many of the cars already on rental will not have been returned and there is a good chance you will get a upgrade at no extra cost.

Orlando vacations are notoriously hectic especially with all the attractions the kids want to visit, but there is so much more to enjoy in this busy city. (...)

Orlando vacations are notoriously hectic especially with all the attractions the kids want to visit, but there is so much more to enjoy in this busy city. Orlando also has the famous International Drive which houses a huge number of attractions, shopping areas and water parks; all within a reasonable walking distance if you want a rest from driving. Whilst many people that visit are first timers, more are returning for their second, third or more time as there is always something new to see.

If you enjoy shopping then you will love Orlando; it has plenty of malls and stores like Outdoor World which is so large it contains a 17,000 gallon aquarium and you could spend all day there. An Orlando vacation has far more to offer than this short article can possibly hope to highlight so only a few of the more unusual attractions and places to see are brought to your attention. The Central Florida Zoo for instance only opened back in 1975 and was owned by the Sanford Fire Department prior to that but is now the home to over four hundred animals. Privately owned, this zoo is also a botanical garden run by a charitable group whose purpose is to protect native and endangered species around the world.

Then there are the works of Louis Tiffany whose famous collection is housed here in the Morse Museum of American Art. For aficionados of Tiffany art, this is the place to visit with the largest display anywhere in the world, including jewelry, paintings, glass, pottery and ornaments. Whilst Orlando may appear on the surface to be a town designed for the entertainment of children that could not be farther from the truth with adults equally well looked after. For tourists that like to burn the candle at both ends there is a range of nightly entertainment on an Orlando vacation from themed family evenings like Pirates Adventure to clubs, bars and restaurants.

Another popular attraction is the Orlando Science Center and is in fact one of the largest buildings of its type allowing the visitor access to ten huge exhibition halls. Then there is the International Trolley and Train Museum where you can see toy trains from the 1920s; plus take a ride in a California Victorian-style half open/half closed trolley car. For something a little different there's the Titanic Exhibition which tells the story of the ill fated Ocean Liner performed by a character from the ship; the displays contain some original salvaged items and at times the tour is very moving.

Lake Eola Park on the other hand has a pleasant 43 acres to stroll around and relax or perhaps a little boating on the lake. No trip to Orlando would be complete without a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort which comprises of four main theme parks plus water parks; or Universal Studios resort complex which is equally as popular. Whatever you want from a vacation, Orlando can supply and you don't have to work hard at finding it either; next time you are there, try some of the other attractions, you won't be disappointed.

Paris is an old city full of intrigue with a long history; it has the ability to please everyone and is often referred to as The City of Lights. Unfortunately a Paris short stay can only ever be considered a taster; most people quickly discover that a few days is not really enough.

This city is also equally well known for its gothic architecture and markets; including famous sights like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe to name just two internationally famous landmarks. Fortunately for tourists, Paris has a first rate transportation system; the Metro underground system is easy to understand, efficient and reaches everywhere even the most enthusiastic tourist would want to visit.

At almost 1,000 feet high, the Eiffel Tower is an impressive sight; it can be seen from any point within the city and the superb views just can?t be matched by those looking at it from the ground. You can be assured of an even more beautiful sight if you visit in the evening when it is illuminated; if you are really enthusiastic you can take a tour where the guide will tell you how this beautiful tower was built.

If you plan on spending some of your traveler's checks in Paris, then a trip down the Champs Elysees is an essential part of a trip; it's where you will find all the top class hotels, shops and restaurants. This is an 'up-market' area that attracts thousands of tourists each day; the average tourist may find the accommodation expensive but more modest hotels can be found away from this area.

The city's famous museum, the Louvre is huge and worth a visit if you have the time; it holds in excess of 300,000 pieces of art, which cannot possibly be seen in a single visit. It would be easy for anyone on a Paris short stay vacation to spend all their time here; with so many visitors (around eight million), sometimes it can be difficult seeing some of the famous works. Paris has attracted world famous artists for hundreds of years; many of whom left large collections of their paintings here like Monet and Picasso.

Paris is also the home of the equally famous Arc de Triomphe which Napoleon had constructed in the early part of the 19th century; to honor his generals (and his troops) he had their names inscribed upon it. Although not generally well known, the Arc had an observatory installed after it was constructed to provide views of neighboring areas; it stands in the place where the city's main avenues begin including the Champs Elysees.

This city has a huge variety of places to visit, many of these have not even mentioned here; and whilst there are many more worthy examples, those listed here should not be missed. Unfortunately, short stays in Paris can be demanding on visitors; the likes of medieval churches, buildings and castles, which it has in abundance, will have to wait until another time.

Business is now truly worldwide which means companies hoping to improve their market share will need to travel more if they want to find new customers; the Internet whilst making the world smaller has increased the potential markets available; It is business travelers though who are feeling the strain with increasing stress and fatigue levels. With that in mind, this business travel tips article highlights some useful information that could make your business journeys more pleasurable.

One thing that will probably happen at some stage is your luggage will go missing which can be a real problem for anyone traveling but more so if you are on business. To reduce the chance of a wasted journey, always carry anything that is relevant to your trip in your hand luggage. This makes a great deal of sense because you are covered should your main luggage go missing then your meeting can still go ahead and hopefully your main luggage will be located in due course.

As far as your main luggage is concerned, make sure you only pack just enough for the trip and this is probably the most useful business travel tip to bear in mind. In order to accomplish this, make do with a pair of casual shoes and a pair of business shoes only, and be sure to only bring enough work clothes to last you through the trip. With the clothing taken care of the only items left to pack are your toilet bag plus any additional documentation that would be useful but not necessary for the meeting.

To make further space and allow you to pack a smaller bag, roll your clothing into tight cylinders; this allows you to pack things tightly and will help you to avoid wrinkles ? try to remember this useful business travel tip. To go one step further, if you want to ensure that even if food or drink are spilled on your clothes you won't need them laundered; use dark colors which are also handy because creases don't show as much. Another little trick that experienced travelers use is to carry hand and face wipes with them which can freshen your appearance in seconds without the need of a washroom.

Cell phones and other related equipment normally have good battery life but don't forget to take a charger if you are going to be somewhere for more than a few days. There is nothing worse than sitting in a hotel room at night working when you could be out exploring the city you are in so make use of the flight time and try to get important preparation work done then. By following these few quick and handy tips you should find that you will not be on the back foot and no matter what happens during your travel on business, you should have a successful trip. Business travel does not have to be all work and by using the business travel tips shown here, there should be time for rest and relaxation too.

A Caribbean cruise vacation is the ultimate deal and if you have not tried it yet, now is the time; how else would you get to visit this many beautiful islands in such a short period? (...)

A Caribbean cruise vacation is the ultimate deal and if you have not tried it yet, now is the time; how else would you get to visit this many beautiful islands in such a short period? You can have everything you want with a different Caribbean island every day and all the wonderful evening entertainment of a resort on board the cruise liner. There is a great deal of flexibility involved on the part of the liner companies and they can arrange short taster trips or a full fourteen days or more vacations.

Everyone on board a ship will have individual needs and they can cater for them all, it is your vacation and it can be as quite or lively as you want it to be. Cruise liner owners are aware of this and have different packages to cater for diverse crowds so the vacation can meet their needs of a dream holiday with a variety of entertainment packages available. Before making the trip, it is wise to find out more, so go to your nearest travel agent to find the right package, but you can also find comments and reviews online.

Almost every Caribbean island will receive cruise liner guests but they can't call on every one each trip as it would take to long so you need to look for a package that will call at the islands you want. Disco loving people that don't like to sleep will enjoy those cruise vacations that arrange activity filled days and non-stop party evenings. Whilst your travel agent can give more details, so can the Caribbean cruise liner website and information on the types of packages should be more in depth.

One important thing to remember is the type of clothes you pack for your trip as you will have the opportunity to wear all you normal holiday clothes plus those for dressing up in the evening. These are the sort of times when you will need to have a tuxedo for men and evening gown for women as part of your attire. Even if you intend to bring along your children on a family cruise vacation, there are plenty of programs to occupy them and they will not have a dull moment.

You can even take time off for a little quality adult time as there is fully trained staff to look after them. Couples can take a romantic Caribbean cruise vacation and you will have the holiday you look forward to on a vacation vessel that is for adults only. There is no end to what you can actually request on your cruise liner vacation so if you have just got married or are celebrating your fiftieth wedding anniversary, something special can be arranged. A Caribbean cruise vacation is the ideal venue for singles, couples and for families as everyone is looked after with a multitude of activities available; no-one ever feels left out.

One of the downsides to the internet is that fewer people actually visit a travel agent to book their vacation now. (...)

One of the downsides to the internet is that fewer people actually visit a travel agent to book their vacation now. This gradual turn to travel websites has come about because more discounts can be found and you can book the vacation at any time of the day. Even though I will probably save a few dollars by using the internet, I continue to book my vacations face to face with a travel agent but I do admit to some serious searching on the internet to learn more about where I am going. It isn't difficult to go ahead and check out the destinations that you are thinking about exploring and I have done that many times; I have even looked at rates to see if they are affordable before I approach a travel agent.

It can also help when you are on a budget if you know what the cost is in advance as it saves the embarrassment of telling them you cannot afford a vacation they have just found that suits all your criteria. Although most of their work is booking the vacations they can also be helpful with hints and tips you haven't seen on the internet. For instance, when international travel is concerned, they should be able to help you with local laws to the country you are traveling too that could relate to your stay. For instance some place charge a fee to enter their country which isn't always shown in the brochure or online and they will know this; they may be even able to advise on places to visit.

Make no mistake, while the internet is undoubtedly very efficient, it is also quite impersonal and will not be able to give the assurances a travel representative can about your travel arrangements. Although I do not have any real problem with the internet it is the human approach that I prefer. Websites are not very good at dealing with problems and there is nothing as reassuring as actually giving your complaint to a real person like a travel agent to correct. The benefits of seeing a person was highlighted when my husband and I wanted to get married and fortunately we found a travel agent that was on exactly the right wavelength as us.

What really made the difference was the way our representative approached the whole wedding arrangements; there was an enthusiasm to the work that was quite infectious, something that I shall never forget. She was able to provide a great deal of information, some of which she checked on my behalf and helped with finding out the cost which was obviously a priority. As she was so quick to get all this done we decided to book the wedding and honeymoon almost straight away. Travel agents work hard to get the holiday right but at least they are there to help if there are problems too.

If you want to see how other cultures live their daily lives then you really need to plan some international travel. (...)

If you want to see how other cultures live their daily lives then you really need to plan some international travel. Generally speaking it is within the realms of most average salary workers now to choose a relatively exotic location if they are willing to carry out some time research into things online. Although most of the best deals are in winter, the likes of Southern France, Italy, Spain and Greece have very mild winters so you won't have to suffer the cold on your travels. Think outside the box when booking accommodations so whether your trip is for a week or a month; look online for private housing or villas to rent on a daily or weekly basis.

Most properties on the continent have modern facilities so your laundry cooking and internet will still be available. Of course making use of the kitchen will save some money if you have your breakfast there every morning before you spend the day exploring the local sights. With your own laundry facilities it is easy to keep your washing clean and if there is internet access you can send your friends e-cards which won't cost anything. Seeing and meeting people from other countries will open your mind to new ideas especially when you see things that you wish you had in your own country.

In America for example, meals can be rushed, even when they are not fast food driven whereas in Europe meals are a much more drawn out casual affair that can last many hours where friends and family gather and it is much safer walking around in the evening. It is also pleasant to walk and tour the area in which you are to get a real feel of the country you are in and not that portrayed mainly at the tourist areas. International travelers have the opportunity to try new, local meals so if you are in France you may want to try French Pistou, Paella in Spain or Kleftiko in Greece for instance. Making the most of where you are staying is an important part of being an international traveler so when you are in cities make use of their transport systems which are generally very efficient and cheap.

However, if this is how you like to travel then restricting how much you carry with you is paramount and being able to fit everything you need into hand luggage can save a great deal of time at the airport. However, if this is how you like to travel then restricting how much you carry with you is paramount and being able to fit everything you need into hand luggage can save a great deal of time at the airport. Many people travel light like this, buying what they need at each destination which means they can make do with just a small bag for essentials. Travel does not have to be about huge luggage filled suitcases as truly adventurous travelers know.

It seems that airfare deals, the best price and the best time to travel are talked about more often by folks who travel more frequently. (...)

It seems that airfare deals, the best price and the best time to travel are talked about more often by folks who travel more frequently. Though the price of tickets seem to fluctuate considerably in different parts of the world, it is possible to fly to most destinations for considerably less than the full regular ticket cost; given you've done some research and you have the assistance of a travel agent.

The key difference when it comes to getting good deals is the adaptability of the traveler. If you are prepared to be flexible on the day and time of year when you travel, you can nearly always have a cheap seat. To save money airlines will slot people into empty seats, so if you're willing to modify your dates to suit the airlines' program, then you can benefit on their decision. However, with most airlines, if you decide to switch your travel date after you have booked a flight, you will incur a hefty cancellation of amendment penalty. A point about being flexible when looking for flights is that if you want to cancel or change your flight without receiving an additional charge, it might be better to pay the regular ticket price.

Competition in the world of airlines and airfare deals assures that the frequent flyer usually benefits most. The frequent flyer program is designed as a thank you for good customers because of their loyalty. Passengers earn points or benefits every time that they fly with a certain airline and redeem for tickets or for other goods. The problem of competition has forced many airlines to adopt this scheme or link with other airlines; hotels have also found this to be a way out of the situation.

The best-known source of airfare deals is online. Beware of the internet sites that are specializing in selling airline tickets at a discount, they could be legitimate but it is always best to book your flight with known discount agents. Oftentimes, the problem lies with not being able to authenticate these sites as legitimate businesses before they make a transaction. Never expect email contact as the only avenue for assessing an agent's knowledge of the airline industry, visit the office and if that's not possible, make a call and talk directly with the agent. Inquire about information concerning likely snags involving their ticket deals, for example, an unattractive stopover. It is also important to make sure you know exactly which airline you are flying with.

New airfare deals and options are opening up and increasing daily, on new destinations with more flexible rates. With careful research of the airlines' options and a flexible attitude you will eventually arrive at your destination with little hindrance.

When traveling many things can and do go wrong so following a few simple rules could prevent many of those problems fellow travelers encounter on the road. (...)

When traveling many things can and do go wrong so following a few simple rules could prevent many of those problems fellow travelers encounter on the road. The last thing any traveler wants is to dislike a location because of a bad experience which could have been avoided and possibly saved some money in the process. Nobody wants to spend time in a Police station while they are on vacation, much less being too afraid to go out. Perhaps it is just that traveling safely requires some common sense and most of the time these days, we do not require it as someone else is always responsible for our mistakes!

No matter what the situation is, trust what your instincts tell you as they are very rarely wrong. Always be careful about traveling with all your documents and money if you are just going to town to see the sights or have a meal. You know that when you go out for the day or evening there are only certain things you need, so just take those and leave the rest behind in the safe or security deposit box. A handy tip is to place a small amount of money in a number of locations like bags or pockets then if you happen to lose a bag, visa card or money, you will still have something there to keep you going until it can be resolved.

Many couples who have not adopted the travel safely ethos will have 2 credit cards, both accessing the same account; it is much easier to use two cards, each accessing separate accounts so if one is lost or stolen, there is a backup. Some people just make it easy for snatch thieves who specialize in grabbing bags and cameras from unsuspecting tourists who have them hanging from their shoulder; to prevent this make sure the strap is over the head as well. Always avoid letting something hang from your shoulder next to the road as it is easy to grab something from the back of a motorbike as it passes you. The reason most people fall for these tricks is because we are more relaxed on vacation and the people that carry out these crimes are very good at it.

It is often our arrogance that lets us become victims of theft and other deceptions because we do not believe that anyone will pull the wool over our eyes but this is how the criminals earn their living. Carrying a small backpack can be a good idea as it can be secured with a small padlock which although will not deter the determined thief, will certainly slow down and prevent the majority from trying their luck. Another good idea is to use a hikers (or climbers) small shackle that can be used to safely secure your keys to a belt or bag for those people that frequently lose their keys. One of the biggest problems is with wallets as the vast majority of men carry them in a back pocket and this is an easy target for any criminal so try varying your normal routine and place it in a front pocket or similar. The only reason these types of events happen on vacation is most people are not traveling safely so by maintaining your guard, many awkward situations can be avoidable.

A common complaint when visiting new cities is the lack of time to see all the most interesting places so you will need to plan for seven days in New York if you intend to see what she has to offer. (...)

A common complaint when visiting new cities is the lack of time to see all the most interesting places so you will need to plan for seven days in New York if you intend to see what she has to offer. Most people will agree that a trip here would not be complete without seeing the world famous empire State Building especially from the top. Although, it is probably the top of the Rockefeller Center where a person will get a more impressive view but bad weather can mean that it is sometimes impossible to see anything. Huge numbers of visitors have meant it can often be difficult landing at the Statue of Liberty and getting off the tour boat at Ellis Island is often the easier option.

An easier option is to take the Staten Island ferry which doesn't cost anything and can still give a first class view of the Statue of Liberty; the island is also worth a look and the terminal is a favorite spot for street performers, some are of a professional standard.

Whereas there are stores like Macy's who are happy to take your tourist discount card and give you an eleven percent discount to the very exclusive Bloomingdales who probably won't. At the time of writing the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum was closed for refurbishment but should be open by the fall of 2008; this attraction is highly recommended and worth putting on your list of places to visit. The center piece is the World War II aircraft carrier Intrepid, packed with historic aircraft including Concorde, a destroyer and a submarine but be prepared for a size test if you want to enter the sub Growler. The real New York City Police Museum is open for visitors and whilst admission is free; donations are expected of around five dollars to help with running it; especially for those people in love with the crime side of New York City!

Then it is worth seeing some of the older history of New York back when there were huge numbers of migrants entering the city and the Lower East Tenement was where most of them ended up; this is now a museum and a time capsule. If you visit Central Park (and why wouldn't you?) you can call into the Museum of New York City which has some excellent exhibitions about the past, present and future of the city. The museum is in a beautiful building which is free to enter but a nine dollar donation is normally given with plenty of souvenirs available. For such a large vibrant city, seven days in New York should be viewed as minimum if most of the major attractions are to be seen comfortably and not as part of a 'whistle stop' tour.

The area has at times been called the home of all inclusive vacations due to the high proportion of that type of vacation package compared to other packages. (...)

The area has at times been called the home of all inclusive vacations due to the high proportion of that type of vacation package compared to other packages. Although there is a great deal of debate over the subject, the demand for all inclusive Caribbean vacations does not seem to be dwindling. A number of people believe this popularity has been created as a method of bringing in more tourists to what is already undoubtedly a very busy group of islands; but there is no evidence however, that their popularity has grown specifically because of this move.

The most plausible explanation is the fact that for many people who want to travel to these islands, all inclusive Caribbean vacations packages are very good value for money; the amount of spending money required is minimal, a fact that is not missed by families. Vacations in the Caribbean can be designed completely to the needs of the individual and are therefore very attractive to many visitors. For people that already have family on the islands, their requirements are minimal; there is generally no need for anything other than a flight to be arranged.

It is one of those destinations where it an all inclusive Caribbean vacation option is the most affordable. Of course owing to the number of bookings made, it is usually less expensive to book through a tour operator than it is to arrange the vacation independently. Of course travelers who like to arrange everything them self, would not consider such an option even if the vacation were 'to die for'. Even after all this time it is surprising how many people do not actually know what an all inclusive vacation actually includes.

No matter what type of vacation you are arranging, one thing remains constant and that is the room will be included in the package. All meals and any additional food are included in this type of package but that is not always the case; with other vacations, it may only be the breakfast that the guests are supplied. Many people can get confused between a full board package and an all inclusive package vacation.

In actual fact the difference between a full board vacation (three meals a day) and an all inclusive Caribbean vacation is quite great because the latter will also provide all food, snacks, tea, coffee, soft drinks and locally produced alcohol. Many hotels will also supply their guests with discount vouchers for events, entertainment and meals for example; normally there will be an additional (usually lower) cost attached nevertheless. Many all inclusive Caribbean vacations will include other recreational activities; dining at sister hotels or restaurants at no additional cost is quite normal and means you do not have to spend a great deal of money even if you leave the resort.

Using budget car rentals could be the way to enjoy an independent vacation; imagine being able to go somewhere at any time of the day or night without the wait for a taxi to collect you - and then of course there's the cost to consider! The one thing you don't want though is to be lumbered with a car that sounds like your lawnmower. Always be prepared, that is my motto, you do not have to drive a car that should have been scrapped just because you want to save a few dollars on the rental. That said; here are a few ideas you can use when organizing your rental car.

I have found that budget car rental using the internet as a resource is a good way to find a low cost car because some sites let you set a limit on what you are prepared to pay. Some of these sites are just comparison sites but well worth your time as they have done all the hard work for you. If you are lucky and decide to book a fly-drive deal for instance, then you may find the rental company has upgraded your vehicle but this is less likely if you book with the airline themselves. Unfortunately, airlines although convenient aren't really the more economic way to go, their car rental prices are hardly budget, and tend to be higher than those of outside firms.

If you are not used to arranging budget car rental on the internet, do not let that put you off as you will be pleasantly surprised by the offers available. Some websites even go as far as internet only discounts which can save a great deal of money. Besides, apart from upgrades, special offers are nearly always available if you look around. Don't forget that the only effort required to find these car rental deals is to logon to the internet, how easy is that.

Discounts are often available that you don't realize; they are those that have been arranged between the budget car rental company and your credit card company so it is worth checking as you can save even more money. The frequent flyer program is still available or perhaps you are a member of an organization that has preferential rates arranged. Another tip is to check you rental car carefully and let the company know of any damage you find before you drive away. In addition, try to check out all the accessories, wipers, radio, brakes, seat belts etc, to familiarize yourself with them, and also to check if they work, like the previous tip, you might be charged for this if you don't inform them.

Now we pass the subject of protection because sometimes your own car policy will cover the rental car insurance required. Check this out before you take out any additional cover from the rental firm. Saving money is the game so why pay for rental car insurance you don't need when renting your car; always make sure you have auto insurance anyway, as the penalties for driving without adequate cover are severe. One last tip is to try and collect your rental car as soon as the office opens as many of the cars already on rental will not have been returned and there is a good chance you will get a upgrade at no extra cost.

An Orlando vacation is one of the most popular amongst tourists, but it is much more than just a city tailored for theme park devotees. (...)

An Orlando vacation is one of the most popular amongst tourists, but it is much more than just a city tailored for theme park devotees. Orlando has many churches, museums, parks, markets and unusual tourist attractions to keep the most determined visitor happy. Whilst many people that visit are first timers, more are returning for their second, third or more time as there is always something new to see.

Orlando is a warm and welcoming place that enjoys looking after people with its many shopping malls, restaurants, clubs and bars. Of course this article can only brush the surface of what you can see and do on an Orlando vacation but there is so much more than just theme parks that it would be a shame not to mention them. To start, there is the Central Florida Zoo which draws huge crowds all year round and has over four hundred animals there although it is was only granted this status in 1975. Privately owned, this zoo is also a botanical garden run by a charitable group whose purpose is to protect native and endangered species around the world.

For anyone that appreciates the work of Louis Comfort Tiffany then a large collection of his works is exhibited the Museum of American Art, where it has been housed since the early 1940's. Tiffany glass, clayware and ornaments are all on display here including a specially designed chapel interior shown at the Columbian Exposition back in 1893. Whilst Orlando may appear on the surface to be a town designed for the entertainment of children that could not be farther from the truth with adults equally well looked after. For the young at heart, Orlando vacations aim to please with extensive evening venues including music and dance at Disney's incredible Pleasure Island and Universals version, City walk, to name just a couple of places.

Take the Orlando Science Center which can offer over 200,000 square feet of exhibitions and displays in ten huge halls; its focus is to provide a basis for experimenting, and learning science and technology. Then there is the International Trolley and Train Museum where you can see toy trains from the 1920s; plus take a ride in a California Victorian-style half open/half closed trolley car. On International Drive there is the Mercado Center which is the home to the wonderfully moving, sad and at times eerie Titanic exhibition which actually displays a number of original items from the great ship.

The good weather in Orlando means vacations are normally enjoyable throughout the year; it can be very busy during some of the major holidays.

As the second largest city in Western Europe, Paris is a great place to visit; it has the ability to please everyone and is often referred to as The City of Lights. (...)

As the second largest city in Western Europe, Paris is a great place to visit; it has the ability to please everyone and is often referred to as The City of Lights. Paris short stays of a few days, often over a long weekend are the normal way to see it; most people promise to return as so much they wanted to see will have been missed.

A city famous for its fabulous architecture, good food, wine, street markets and galleries; it has much to offer visitors who adore culture, even if it is only for a long weekend. Traveling through the city of Paris can be very enjoyable; there is a superb underground rail system called the Metro which is efficient and easy to understand.

No visit would be complete without a trip to the top of the almost 1,000 feet tall Eiffel tower; it can be seen throughout most locations around the city. At night, it comes alive with lights that have to be seen to be believed; taking a tour at the same time will teach you much more about this remarkable structure.

A trip down the Champs Elysees is encouraged when you visit Paris as this is the city's most famous street; you can see beautiful shops, sit and drink coffee from the many cafes or have a meal in a first class restaurant. This avenue is well worth a visit to see how the wealthy live; it is also where most of the five star hotels are situated but thankfully hotels tend to be cheaper once you move away from the city center.

A trip to would not be complete without a visit to the Louvre museum; with over 300,000 wonderful artistic works, you simply cannot see all of it in one day. On a Paris short stay vacation it would be easy to spend entire weekend here; the Venus de Milo is displayed here and of course the Mona Lisa. Paris has attracted world famous artists for hundreds of years; chances are that you will have the opportunity to see a number of famous paintings whilst you're visiting.

The famous 19th century edifice built on Napoleons instructions, the Arc de Triomphe, is also in Paris; it provides visitors with a wonderful photo experience because it contains the names of every one of his generals. Many people do not know that an observatory was included in the design which affords great views of the surrounding area; it can be found in Charles de Gaulle Place at the intersection of twelve avenues including the Champs Elysees.

Certainly it is not fair to believe that these are the only places in the city worth visiting; there are plenty of others to keep you occupied but to make the most of your time, use one of the guided tours. It's an unfortunate fact that a Paris short stay vacation will only include some of the attractions; anything that's missed will have to take a rain check.

When you do pack the main luggage, the clothes you won't be carrying on as hand luggage, make sure to pack only what you need for this trip. The easiest way to do this is to only take one pair of casual shoes and work pair; keep your work clothes to exactly what you need for the tip and likewise clothes for when you are on your leisure time. With the clothing taken care of the only items left to pack are your toilet bag plus any additional documentation that would be useful but not necessary for the meeting.

Remember before you leave to charge up your cell phone and other electronic devices; look into buying some form of mobile or wireless internet access package so that you can work on the move. If you make effective use of your day time 'downtime' while you are traveling, then you may be able to spend evenings exploring the areas once when you arrive at your business trip destination. Simply planning ahead for these eventualities mean you will be ready for your business travel journey, no matter what.
More and more people are booking their vacations and doing the research online and travel agents are seeing less people walking through their doors. (...)

More and more people are booking their vacations and doing the research online and travel agents are seeing less people walking through their doors. The internet has found a whole new marketplace for people who want more control to design and arrange their vacations online and save money as well. While the internet does have its benefits and I admit to using it to look for vacations and learn more about where I want to visit, I still prefer to have a travel agent in person to sit in front of and actually book the vacation. Checking out the destinations online can be fun, educational and it is easy carrying out virtual tours before you go plus by the time I actually visit the travel agent I have all the details I need.

It can also help when you are on a budget if you know what the cost is in advance as it saves the embarrassment of telling them you cannot afford a vacation they have just found that suits all your criteria. Although most of their work is booking the vacations they can also be helpful with hints and tips you haven't seen on the internet. As every country has different laws, your travel representative can be helpful if you intent to travel to an international destination. They know all of the fees for entering and exiting the countries so not only can they give you the facts, but they make recommendations on where you may want to travel and what there is to see and do.

Make no mistake, while the internet is undoubtedly very efficient, it is also quite impersonal and will not be able to give the assurances a travel representative can about your travel arrangements. I can't help it because I just like dealing with someone face to face and know that there is a certain amount of care involved with my travel arrangements which is something I do not feel the internet caters for. You can book all of your flights and hotels through the internet but when it comes to complaining or trying to resolve an issue, suddenly a website cannot be of assistance whereas travel agents are there to assist you. The benefits of seeing a person was highlighted when my husband and I wanted to get married and fortunately we found a travel agent that was on exactly the right wavelength as us.

She was very sweet plus incredibly helpful and by the time I ended the 30 minute conversation with her, she had renewed my faith in them; she had given me many choices of where we could go that we'd have wonderful weather for the month we were planning to travel. Her help included things I hadn't even asked her and she managed to provide us with an accurate costing which was a very important issue. It was this help that enabled us to book the wedding and our vacation almost immediately which was not something we had planned on but there wasn't anything else left to do. There is another reason why travel agents are better than the internet; you don't get much of a response from a computer screen when you want to complain.

There is nothing like international travel to broaden the mind and fortunately it is now something that almost anyone can afford. (...)

There is nothing like international travel to broaden the mind and fortunately it is now something that almost anyone can afford. Generally speaking it is within the realms of most average salary workers now to choose a relatively exotic location if they are willing to carry out some time research into things online. Places like Spain, Italy, the South of France and Greece are good destinations as they have mild winters. When carrying out your online research, look for people that rent out their own apartments and homes perhaps for a shorter time which may mean it will be less expensive than through other specialist organizations.

Most properties on the continent have modern facilities so your laundry cooking and internet will still be available. Obviously it is easy to go out for a meal but this can be costly if it is done for every meal of the day so having a kitchen where you can prepare a breakfast is going to save a considerable sum. By having the facility to wash and iron you clothes you can save more money on having them professionally laundered and greetings cards can be sent for no charge over the internet. It is always exciting visiting a new country, to get a chance to explore and absorb new cultures and see how people live their normal daily lives, which on the whole aren't that different from people everywhere.

Food is a much more drawn out event than our eat-and-run habit as meals are enjoyed slowly, seasoned with the friendship of your companions plus it is actually quite safe to go out at night in any major European city. Why not head off the normal tourist routes an explore the local areas where you can find some wonderful shops, cafes and the local business where you be able to get a feel for how the local population run their everyday lives. A true international traveler will want to experience the local food and traditional dishes like French Pistou and Spanish Paella instead of the plastic versions you can get elsewhere. Part of the experience of international travel is getting around, so become adventurous as large cities, such as Paris, have inexpensive and ultra-efficient transport systems making it easy to go anywhere you want.

If you are considering this type of trip then you may want to reduce the amount of luggage you take and travel light using only a carry on which will certainly save a huge amount of time and there is less chance of anything going missing. If you are considering this type of trip then you may want to reduce the amount of luggage you take and travel light using only a carry on which will certainly save a huge amount of time and there is less chance of anything going missing. Careful planning means you can pack everything you need for a month's stay anywhere in a carry-on and it's just as easy to find a foreign equivalent of an American drugstore and pick up any toiletries you may need. This is an exciting way to travel, light and easy and finding a new place to visit is as easy as searching on the internet.

It seems that airfare deals, the best price and the best time to travel are talked about more often by folks who travel more frequently. Although ticket prices seem to fluctuate considerably, it's possible to fly to many destinations around the World for a lot less than the full standard fare; given you've enlisted the aid of a friendly travel agent and have done some research.

A key factor in getting a good deal is the ability to be flexible. Flexibility and the willingness to compromise on the day and time of year you travel, will almost always guarantee you a cheap seat. If you are willing to modify your dates, to suit the airlines' need to save money by slotting people into empty seats, then you can save money yourself. A hefty cancellation fee will be charged against you by many airlines, if after you have booked your flight, you switch the date. A point about being flexible when looking for flights is that if you want to cancel or change your flight without receiving an additional charge, it might be better to pay the regular ticket price.

Competition within the world of airlines and airfare deals, usually assures that the frequent flyers win. The frequent flyer program is designed as a thank you for good customers because of their loyalty. Airline passengers earn air miles or bonuses whenever they ride with a certain carrier and redeem for free tickets or for some other award. This has caused a problem throughout the airline industry and has succeeded in causing many to form alliances with other airlines; many hotels chains have followed the airlines' lead.

A well-known source for airfare deals is on the internet. People should watch out for internet sites specializing in sales of discounted airline tickets, they could be legitimate but it is better to be wary and book with better known discount agents. The problem is that people often have a hard time in confirming the legitimacy of these sites before they are committed to making a payment. Telephone the booking office for information if an office visit is not possible; one way of another, try to assess the agent's knowledge, but never rely on email contact as the only method to deal with a reputable company. Inquire about information concerning likely snags involving their ticket deals, for example, an unattractive stopover. Learn exactly which airline you are flying with because that is important to know.

Airfare deals and options are opening up daily with new destinations and more flexible rates. With careful research of the airlines' options and a flexible attitude you will eventually arrive at your destination with little hindrance.

There is nothing worse than having problems occur when you are on vacation, especially in a foreign land where many things are unfamiliar. The annoying thing is that a few bad situations can spoil a whole week or two week vacation. In the worst case scenarios, passports, credit cards and cash may have to be replaced. It is easy to drop your guard when you are on vacation and enjoying yourself but this is when you are most vulnerable so traveling safely relies on your common sense to guide you.

People often neglect to trust their instincts in a situation which can lead them into unnecessary trouble. If you are heading out on the town to discover new bars or taking photos at the local fish market, do you really need to carry your passport, traveler?s checks, extra cash, credit cards and plane tickets? Consider just what you require for your trip out and take that, placing everything else that is of importance in your room or hotel safe. A handy tip is to place a small amount of money in a number of locations like bags or pockets then if you happen to lose a bag, visa card or money, you will still have something there to keep you going until it can be resolved.

Unfortunately, the convenience of having two credit cards on the same account in your own country can be a problem in a foreign land so another travel safely tip is to use two completely separate accounts; this provides a back-up should one be lost or stolen. A big thing now is bag and camera snatching from people strolling along, often in the road and unaware of the potential danger so make sure you wear the backpack on your back and sling your camera over your head and shoulder. If you are the person carrying the camera or bag, then walk away fro the edge of the road where it is easy for motorcycle thieves to grab something and make a quick getaway. Everyone has heard the stories of different confidence tricks that have happened to vacationers because they are relaxed and let their guard down but the truth is these people do this sort of thing for a living.

The problem is we all think we?re smarter than the scammers, robbers and pick pockets but the sad reality is that these people do it for a living and it?s how many of them feed themselves and their families. Carrying a small backpack can be a good idea as it can be secured with a small padlock which although will not deter the determined thief, will certainly slow down and prevent the majority from trying their luck. A good way to prevent your keys from being stolen or more likely lost, is to buy a small shackle that climbers use and while you cannot lock these it is possible to secure them to belts for example. If you are a man th
